Brockley Hall History

The Early Years

Brockley Hall was originally built in 1804 by George Leggott, a local landowner and entrepreneur.

The house was constructed in the neoclassical style, featuring a grand entrance hall, elegant reception rooms and ornate ceilings.

The hall was later sold to Henry Pease, a member of a prominent Quaker family, who added a library and a conservatory to the property.

A Haven for the Arts

In the early 1900s, Brockley Hall became a hub for the arts and culture scene in Saltburn.

The hall was owned by the McInnes family, who were avid supporters of the arts and hosted numerous events and performances at the house.

Famous artists, musicians and actors were frequent visitors to Brockley Hall, including the likes of William Morris and Laurence Olivier.

A New Chapter

Brockley Hall fell into disrepair in the mid-20th century and was eventually sold to the local council.

It was later bought by a private investor who saw the potential of the property and invested heavily in its restoration.

Today, Brockley Hall is a luxury hotel and wedding venue that retains many of its original features, including the grand entrance hall, ornate ceilings and fireplaces.
