Welcome to Saltburn Community Theatre for this years Animex Fringe event. The event has been organised by Teesside University’s Institute of Digital Innovation. Once again the local community have been very much involved in the creation of the content for this event.
First we will see some animations by the children of Whitecliffe Primary School followed by 4 animations produced a few years ago by adults in Skinningrove.
Then we will see some animations by students who are winners and runners up in the Animex awards followed by some animations created by the University’s Digital City Fellows.
We will then have a presentation from Councillor Mike Findler who, as my predecessor, opened this event last year and ended up in an animation himself (so who knows what lies in store for me !)
Finally we will see the World Première of “The Force is With You” which has been produced in partnership with the Institute of Digital Innovation, the Skinningrove Community, Whitecliffe Primary School, Cleveland Police and Redcar & Cleveland Community Safety Partnership.
Welcome to the Animation Event in Saltburn by the Sea.
This is a fringe event as part of the
Animex International Festival of Animation & Computer Games

Hi I am Bozz there is lots of people here that are from lots of different subject areas which is great. A real cross community participation. I go to the media club in Saltburn in Destinations (a UK Online Centre). I am part of the group that have done “THE BONFIRE”. This is an annual bonfire on 5th November, and as part of this major British festival. I put together a blog on it on skinningrove.tv and also I have wiki called Port Mulgrave and am working on an animation connected with the Jetty! Its called Lost Harbours. Please do connect with me in any way I am open and friendly.

Kieran and Sharon are both proud to say “Skinningrove Link up is part of something international which hopefully will raise profile of Skinningrove internationally. We are very fortunate to have Barry Hunt who not only happens to be a local resident but an excellent advocate for community matters and woudl like to congratulae him on becoming an Amb”assador to the Uzipis Republic. There is not anybody better.

Alison Atkinson, Loftus Town Clerk has nimbly translated the Latin motto for the town – vis virtus velocitas – life strength speed. Since 2002 she has been clerk and is delited to come to an IMEX extension and says “We need to drag ourselves kicking and screaming into the 21st century!” Luckily Loftus leads the way -although our website is a classic from the pre-Firefox days!
